The BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt began its activities in Brazil in 2012. The experiences we gained there helped us to successfully expand our activities to other countries in the region. On October 26–28, 2016, the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt invited representatives of 13 Brazilian foundations to share their experiences and challenges in the fields of venture philanthropy and impact investing. This report summarizes the workshop and its results.
Aug 2016 —
The BMW Foundation initiated its activities in Brazil in 2012, when Sandra Ortiz Diaz, responsible for the Foundation’s Latin America strategy, attended the Social Enterprise World Forum in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, the Foundation has collaborated with more than 25 partner organizations, including multi-national corporations, media corporations, and social innovation groups, thus helping create an ecosystem that drives positive social change. The report offers an overview of the foundation’s network partners and its work in Brazil.

Together with the Taproot Foundation and local host Conjunct Consulting, the BMW Foundation hosted the 4th Global Pro Bono Summit in Singapore in 2016, focusing on the Asian pro bono market. This report sums up the outcomes.
Nov 2015 —
The 1st Berlin Global Forum on November 13, 2015, marked the conclusion of the first cycle of our new dialogue process: the BMW Foundation Global Table. The aim of the process is to improve the dialogue between Europe and the emerging economies. This e-book features contributions from participants of the five Global Tables on the key topics of the 1st Berlin Global Forum: energy security, China’s New Silk Road initiative, and the global dimension of the refugee crisis.
The e-book was published in cooperation with Herder-Verlag; an expanded print version was published in early 2016.
