Achieving the 2030 Agenda – Rethinking Global Partnerships for Sustainable Development

The United Nations 2030 agenda is based on two basic beliefs: One, that global challenges can only be solved together; and two, that climate policy, poverty reduction and sustainable development are inextricably linked. With this year’s Zukunftsbrücke, we will examine how the SDGs in Germany and China are understood, and which new paths and partnerships will allow us to advance towards their fulfilment. Under discussion will be the roles of nation-states and new cross-sector partnerships from politics, academia and civil society, and ultimately the responsibility of individuals and leaders to work towards a fair, sustainable society.
