As part of this year’s Munich Security Conference, the BMW Foundation will host a panel discussion on the topic of “Reshuffling the Pieces: Building a New Multilateral Order.” The panel brings together a diverse group of political decision-makers and foreign policy experts to discuss the future of the multilateral order, how it can be reshaped by newly emerging coalitions of states, and what role responsible leaders can play in this geopolitical power play.
The rise of nationalist politics with a focus on a “nation first” strategy is threatening a global system that has not been perfect but that has so far ensured stability and prosperity. Success in achieving a new multilateral order will take more than consensus-building; it will require a global mindset shift towards responsible leadership.
Panelists will include Wang Huiyao, Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization, People’s Republic of China; Norbert Röttgen, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, German Bundestag; and Stephen Hadley, former National Security Advisor of the United States of America.
This event is already fully booked.
