Who is your hero?
About Anna Oberschmidt
Anna has worked as a team assistant with the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt in Berlin since August 2017.
Born and raised in the southwest of Germany, she initially concentrated on her musical training on the violin, touring the world with different youth orchestras. She not only participated in competitions but also supplemented her pocket money by performing as a street musician. Anna began her career at the Badisches Staatstheater, where she worked in sound engineering.
She subsequently studied International Business Management, spending her year abroad in Wales, where she investigated the pros and cons of corporate codes of conduct.
Anna next brought her love of music and her newly acquired business knowledge to the Baden-Württemberg University of Popular Music and Music Business: In addition to establishing the degree program in Pop Music Design, developing further the European network Mu:zone and organizing concerts, she was in charge of the International Songwriter Week and the International Band Camp.
Nevertheless, she quit this job to sign up as entertainment manager on the cruise ships of TUI Cruises. At sea, she gained experiences in team management, moderation, and guest service. Even today, Anna doesn’t mind slipping into the role of “Oberst Schmidt” from her days with TUI Cruises, if the Foundation’s crew does not do as told (and leaves the dirty dishes out after eating).
Her spare time activities are just as varied as her biography. She likes music, good food, sports, volunteering for UNICEF, and trying out new activities – of which Berlin has a lot to offer.
