About Besa Misimi
Since September 2019, Besa has been an important member of the Events team of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt. Starting out as an intern in our Munich office, she has worked in our Berlin office since March 2020.
Fascinated by the potential impact of synergies, Besa early on developed a passion for bringing together different people and creating spaces for encounter. Already while at school, she initiated projects that inspired people to come closer together and volunteered as a mediator for schools in Baden-Württemberg. After graduating, she worked for a year in a children’s home in Cape Town, which she subsequently also supported in different areas from Germany.
Before her first encounter with the BMW Foundation, Besa studied media studies at the University of Tübingen, focusing mostly on the question of how social media motivate people to get engaged in social movements.
True to her Swabian roots, Besa has yet another passion: organizing. During her studies, she worked in event planning for Daimler AG where she conceived and realized creative public relations concepts for international auto shows. In addition, she assisted the sales team of the IT manufacturer Lenovo, developing, together with partners, sales concepts in Germany.
She is particularly excited by the idea of combining both passions: organizing events where people come together in order to jointly bring about positive change.
In her leisure time, Besa prefers another kind of synergy: that of board, human, and nature. She feels most at home when riding the waves on her surfboard. If she cannot be by the sea, you can find her doing sports (or) in the outdoors.
