About Julia Sikora
Julia Sikora puts the internal processes of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt to the test. She currently draws up the cooperation and grant procedures of the Foundation, and, as person in charge of compliance, grapples with laws, guidelines, and foundation policies and moves potential obstacles out of the way. Within the finance team of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, she serves, among other things, as the contact for payment policies.
Prior to that, she traveled the world for the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt, organizing events in India, South Africa, Indonesia, Argentina, and many other countries. Her path into the world of legal rules and finances was not a straight one. Born in Poland, Julia studied art history and worked in the financial sector in Chicago before moving into the field of arts and culture management.
After posts as team director of the Information and Visitor Service at documenta 12, as project assistant at the city marketing of Bremen, in concert planning and marketing at the Glocke, a historic concert hall in Bremen, and in the organizing team of the Musikfest Bremen, she eventually came to Berlin.
Luckily for Julia, who continues to be passionate about contemporary art, there is always an exciting exhibition going on in the nation’s capital. If she wants to escape the urban concrete jungle, she goes running – she is training for her first marathon – or relaxes on the beach in Portugal.
