About Vinzenz Weidner

Vinzenz Weidner makes sure that the digital communication of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt has its finger on the pulse – no matter how quickly and rapidly things are changing. Before joining the Foundation, Vinzenz worked in the private sector, lastly as digital strategist for Universal Music and ProSiebenSat.1. A crash course at, until recently Europe’s largest viral blog, taught him what works and what doesn’t work online. Not coincidentally, perhaps, Vinzenz already wrote his diploma thesis on shitstorms in the context of historical cultural practices.

Luckily, he has so far been spared digital disasters. His passion is to identify new online trends and make them usable for the Foundation’s strategy in as simple and efficient a way as possible.

Vinzenz Weidner graduated from the Canisius Kolleg, a Jesuit high school in Berlin. This, however, does not keep him from not attending church. Already as a teenager, Vinzenz did a brief stint in the Foundation sector, assisting his grandfather with different projects at the Bürgerstiftung Berlin. At the age of 17, he went abroad: He worked a development aid worker in the Argentinian jungle and, two years later, joined a Malteser team to look after handicapped people in Lebanon.

Vinzenz Weidner was born in Munich but grew up in exile in Berlin. He compensates through sports: as fan of the FC Bayern München.
